Features
  • Reworked the 2 existing basic buildings in Holy Site (see below for details) as well as added a minor bonus to Worship buildings.
  • 4 new buildings added: Altar, Monastery, Hospitium, Garden (see below for details). The last two make up the 4th tier and require a Worship building to be built first.
  • Unique 3d art and icons for all these buildings.
  • See District Expansion: Worship for 9 new and 9 fully reworked Worship buildings.
  • Armagh’s Monastery improvement renamed to "Abbey" to avoid conflict.
  • Prasat still replaces only Temple, Stave Church now only replaces Monastery.
  • Adjusted the Choral Music and Feed The World follower beliefs. Zen Meditation follower belief reworked to grant amenities from Holy Site buildings.
  • New and reworked policies (see below for details).

Details
  • 1 – Shrine: One more Specialist slot than usual, and +1 Faith to Specialists. Unlocks at Astrology.
  • 1 – Altar: +1 Faith per Governor Promotion in this city. Unlocks at Mysticism.
  • 2 – Temple: +0.3 Faith per Citizen. Unlocks at Theology.
  • 2 – Monastery: +1 Food and +1 Faith to every Mountain in this city (can now be worked by everyone). +1 Faith to every adjacent Mountain and Feature. Unlocks at Theology.
  • 3 – All Worship buildings: +5% Faith in this city.
  • 4 – Hospitium: +1 Faith from each Great Work in this city. +2 Housing. +25% Religious Tourism in this city. Unlocks at Reformed Church.
  • 4 – Garden: +5% Faith in this city. +1 Housing and +1 Amenity. +10% Great Person points in this city. Unlocks at Humanism.

The Prasat still replaces only Temple but grants +0.4 Faith per Citizen instead, Stave Church now only replaces Monastery.

The unique graphics of the Lavra were changed to appear bit by bit as you get more buildings. The Lavra will also give another +5% to all Great Person points in the city with a Hospitium or Garden.

Policies

  • Revelation now provides some Great Prophet points from Temples and Monasteries as well to match the changes to Great People policies in the December 2020 patch.
  • Simultaneum policy no longer buffs building yields by +50%/+100%, but by +1/+2 Faith respectively. This change was necessary for mechanical reasons.
  • Fundamentalism (Cultural Heritage): updates Simultaneum, Faith granted based on building tier.

With the Preserve in the game, the following two policies are added:

  • Ahimsa (Theology): Preserves get +1 Faith with charming Appeal, +3 Faith with breathtaking Appeal, and +1 Amenity. Made with Leugi’s Preserve Rework in mind.
  • Romanticism (Ideology): update for both Scripture and Ahimsa, merging them into one policy, the same way Campus and Industrial Zone, Commercial Hub and Habor, and Theater Square and Entertainment Complex get a combined adjacency policy in the late game.

Compatibility and Recommendations

Requires Gathering Storm. Other DLC supported but not required.

This mod is compatible with JFD’s Rule with Faith, P0kiehl’s Civilizations Expanded, and CIVITAS’ City States Expanded (CSE), and Religion Expanded. The new buildings will receive the respective bonuses.

If you want tier 4 buildings to receive bonuses from city states, you need CSE and activate the Ethiopia-style city state bonuses of that mod (via game mode option).

Compatible with any Specialists mod.

This mod is of course not compatible with other mods fundamentally changing the Holy Site.

I highly recommend using this mod together with the other mods from my Urban Complexity series, especially the District Expansions.
