Dear Dudes and Dudetts, it is my pleasure to intoduce the shi…i mean shoddy firearms mod for kenshi. Ever wanted a gun that was not as immersion breaking as a silent ak47? Well then this is the mod for you.

And before you ask, it is impossible to add custom sounds to kenshi via modding. So technically the guns do say Thudd when they are fired, but due to the way kenshi’s sound works i cannot increase the volume. So dont expect to hear the dude over there go bang when he shoots.

i recommend using a backpack to make the space between the gun and the character model less jarring on skinny characters.

Current weapons:
Shoddy flintlock – a basic attempt at a firearm. Has basic damage and fast reload rate at low level and quality. Great for low level characters and stat grinding. 30-50 damage depending on quality. (not so great vs a Hundred Guardian)

Improved flintlock – a better attempt at a firearm. Has higher damage but has longer reload rate and requires a higher skill and quality to reload faster. 40-60 damage depending on quality.

Double Flintlock – a horrific bastard of a weapon that weighs a ton. Pretty much two improved flintlocks strapped together. Has immense reload time at low level and quality so you dont want this weapon on any low level characters. Two 40-60 damage shots depending on quality. Has the same reload time as a single shot improved flintlock at best quality and high skill.

Manhunter Musket – a better looking improved improved flintlock that does extra damage to humanoids and animals. Great for dealing with tough single targets.

Cannibalhunter Musket – A short modified manhunter with an increased reload speed but reduced damage and accuracy. Great for dealing with cannibals.

Marksman Musket – A spruced up manhunter musket to be used by your best marksman with a hefty damage bonus to animals. (Vengance will be mine ye damned beaky thing!)

Empire Wheellock – a totally overdesigned piece of junk which costs a fortune. Another reason to kick in the teeth of noblemen wherever you find them.

Drill Dummies – 3 dummies that become avalable with each level of the flintlock tech you research. Greatly helps the initial grind to become proficient with shoddy and improved flintlocks.

This mod adds a custom faction called the Gunsmiths that sell firearms and blueprints. You can find their fortress southwest of The Bastion in cannibal territory.
I will be uploading additional patches for this mod that will incorporate the guns into different factions. So you as the player will be able to choose want factions you want to give the new firearms to.

You can pick which factions have firearms by subbing to the following addons: [Use (Genesis) versions if you are running the Project Genesis beta.]

WARNING: USING A RACE OR CHARACTER MOD WILL BREAK THE RELOAD ANIMATION.
I have not gotten around to making it friendly with every single mod or getting around to making patches for every single character mod on the workshop.

If you would like to make your own compatibility patch it is really easy, just add the "Animation file" flintlock_anim to the incompatible race and it will work. Best of luck.
