Faith, Steel, and Gunpowder
Updated for the Grim and the Paunch
Summary
- Adds four different firing modes to Empire, Dwarf, and Vampire Coast artillery: canister shot, carcass shot, explosive shot, and shrapnel shot. Solid, explosive, and canister shot is available to Great Cannons (including Hammer of Witches), Helblaster Volley Guns (including Wagon variant), Cannons and Organ Guns for the Dwarfs, and Carronades and Necrofex Colossi for Vampire Coast. Carcass shot and Shrapnel shot are only available for Empire and Vampire Coast Mortars (including Sootson’s Guns and Wagon variant).
- The Hammer of Witches has a unique explosive canister shot, and Sootson’s Guns have unique variants of Carcass and Shrapnel shot. Note: despite the tooltip, Sootson’s Guns canister shot WILL inflict minor damage to friendly units when using Shrapnel shot.
- Custom icons for the different firemodes currently replace the default ones, as do the descriptions. This means that the High Elf and Dark Elf artillery will have some slightly antithematic icons.
- There is an issue with Organ Guns and Helblaster Volley Guns, where if you try to manually fire (take control of and aim them) them it will only fire one projectile instead of one from every barrel.
Firing Modes
- Solid Shot
- Default fire mode
- Same stats as vanilla.
- Explosive Shot
- Same range as solid shot, but halved damage. Accuracy is also lower.
- Explodes on impact rather than bouncing, dealing explosive damage to a wide area.
- Canister Shot
- Limited range (150m), but fires a large number of projectiles in an inaccurate spray.
- Each individual projectile does relatively minor damage, but close-range shots still decimate infantry and inflicts the "Suppressed!" debuff.
- Carcass Shot
- Same range as default mortar shells, but MUCH lower (direct) damage.
- Explodes on impact, dealing minor AP damage over a wide area, but also inflicting the "Poision" debuff to affected infantry.
- Shrapnel Shot
- Same range as default mortar shells.
- Explodes as an airburst, firing a large number of projectiles in an inaccurate spray towards the enemy and inflicting the "Suppressed!" debuff.
- Damage can be reduced by shields.
- Has very poor accuracy in uneven terrain.
Compatibility
- Steel Faith Overhaul [SFO] version
- Should be compatible with most mods, unless they do the same thing.
- This mod doesn’t require a new game.
- Fully save-game compatible.
