FS UIC-Z1 semipilota

La carrozza semipilota UIC-Z1 è stata ottenuta, a partire dal 1996, mediante la trasformazione di un lotto di carrozze UIC-Z1, installando una cabina di guida ad una estremità per permetterne l’utilizzo in telecomando (e, quindi, treni intercity reversibili).
Il primo ordine di questo tipo di carrozze non ha avuto un gran successo a causa della scarsa affidabilità del telecomando stesso.
Grazie a visionari studi ed allo sviluppo della tecnologia ferroviaria, dopo "soli" 20 anni (2017) è stato consegnato il secondo ordine di queste sfortunate vetture: le UIC-Z1A. In tal caso, la semipilota finalmente funziona come dovrebbe.

The UIC-Z1 pilot carriage was obtained, starting from 1996, by transforming a batch of UIC-Z1 carriages, installing a driver’s cab at one end to allow its use in remote control (and, therefore, reversible intercity trains ).
The first order of this type of waggons was not very successful due to the poor reliability of the remote control itself.
Thanks to visionary studies and the development of railway technology, after "only" 20 years (2017) the second order of these unfortunate cars was delivered: the UIC-Z1A. The driving coach is finally working as it should.
