Arch of Friendship of Nations
The Arch of Friendship of Nations. Inspired by a similar real life ark in Kyiv.
The real arch is around 30m tall and 60m wide, this model is 1,5 times bigger.
The real life arch is located at the end of the main street (Khreschatyk) of Kyiv. It was built in 1982 as a celebration of 60 years of the Soviet Union and 1500 years of Kyiv. The architects are I.M. Ivanov, Serhiy Myrhodoskyi and Kostyantyn Sydorov. The other parts of the monument are two statues which are not included in this model.
The model serves as a monument. Because of a high price, most of the steel has been replaced with concrete, so it costs only around 50k RUB (before it was 200k). It contains 5 road connections, so cars and people can travel underneath it. The road connections support trolleybus roads even though there are no visible wires. (it’s not meant to have trolleybuses underneath it but in case you would need them, I think this will do enough even though there would be 6m of
