Great Wonders Refined
COMPATIBLE WITH 2.0 (Marius)
PART OF THE INVICTUS mod
COMPATIBLE WITH INVICTUS mod
With the Heirs of Alexander DLC the "Great Wonders" building system has been finally introduced to the game. You are able to create your own World Wonder: Towers, buildings or pyramids – customizable with different modules and different materials.
Sadly, the amount of modules for World Wonders is yet very small. That means on the one hand, the design process is simply not overwhelming. And on the other hand redundancy may occure more often.
This mod focusses on expanding your modular choices and adds
- an elevated Tholos
- an elevated Naos
- the polygonal tower base combined with a Tholos called "Oracle"
- the Stoa tower base combined with a main building called "Academy"
- an egyptian pylon temple
- an egyptian pylon roof (round, rect, square)
- a smoothly rounded roof (round, rect, square)
- a palace of administration and bureaucracy, the "Basilica Julia"
- a roman theater
- a large forum
- a roof with statues (round, rect, square), with a closed rectangular roof
- clay as a building material (with the same prestige values as stone)
- a shiny roof (round, rect, square) when chosen material is gold, silver, iron or clay
- a square tower
- an octagonal tower
- a round tower
- a hellenic fortress as tower base
- a circular fortress as tower base
- a large platform with stars as tower base
- 3 new tower tops: A pyramid, a decent platform, a dome
- an Apadana (persian throne room)*
- a persian collonade*
- a persian palace garden*
- a flat persian roof (round, rect, square)*
- a decorated persian roof (round, rect, square)*
- a persian tower*
- 2 new persian collumns*
*with different material appearance
- This is my first try with 3D models. Please have mercy with me!
- The pylon modules (roof and temple) will focus on displaying the egyptian ornaments, when the chosen material is gold. I never play as Egypt but for those of you who do: You are welcome.
- The pylon roof and base are not 100% historically accurate. But I tried to create pieces that can easily fit with any other module without displaying empty texture areas.
- I need a lot of different translations. I only have the languages I speak for myself, German, French, English and Spanish.
Doing this in my freetime makes regular updates impossible. Additionally to that, I sometimes have a lack of ideas. Therefore, updates are coming now and then. But I am very much interested in your opinion and what the community is hoping see in the future. For example, people asked me for clay based modules or a closed version of a roof, and I was happy to add them. The next update will be indian styled buildings / towers / temples
- I thought of adding city buildings like the Basilica Julia and others.
- I plan to add a closed roof for rectangular buildings – with altered square and round roofs (roofs have to come in groups of each type).
- I thought of adding new categories such as "arcs" and "columns". I read about GUI modding and found out that the 3 categories are quite firm in the game code – this makes new categories impossible.
- I wanted to focus on towers for the 3.0 update. Yet, I don’t have any designs and only small ideas.
- I would like to add buildings beyond graeco-roman hemisphere. If there are any historians who can draw some plans and pictures, just give me a friend invite.
- I get asked frequently for clay roof tiles in a classic red tone. I miss such an option too and going to add this in the future.
- Add indian styled buildings / temples.
I want to thank MattTheLegoman, autor of the Nuragic Buildings mod, for giving me tips how to use blender!
I want to thank EndsM for translating my models into simplified Chinese!
