Story:
This mod makes nukes much more expensive which makes other victory types actually viable in multiplayer. This means, most players will have to decide between having nuclear weapons or investing the time and production elsewhere.

With this mod, late-game wars do not boil down to razing ancient cities with a single unit by nuking said city and then simply walking into it. It allows your defensive armies a chance to actually defend your territory while you go for any victory type.

This mod was inspired by a game I played with 4 friends of mine where we’d all been very closely matched in every regard for 2 full evenings, only to have Kongo wipe out Japan’s 7 largest cities in just 10 turns. Kongo had stockpiled some nukes and with it’s nuclear submarines and modern armor in position, Japan simply had no chance when the nukes came down. It was so brutal, even Kongo said it was too easy since nukes were everywhere at once.

To prevent scenarios like that one, this mod makes nuke projects cost more production, greatly increases each missile’s maintenance cost and reduces their range.
