Description:
GENERAL INFO:

This mod allows you to play with every minor clan, tweaking some aspects of the game, to keep the vanilla feeling while giving a fair challenge to the player.
This mod is for Shogun 2 campaign only, so the Rise of the Samurai campaign as well as the Fall of the Samurai campaign are won’t be affected by it. However, turning off this mod when playing RoTS or FoTS is recommended.
It is also recommended to play with the English version of the game, otherwise you won’t be able to see the new text.

Important: THIS MOD IS NOT COMPATIBLE with mods which edit the startpos.esf file, but SHOULDN’T have problems working with other mods. To play Ikko Ikki, Hattori and Otomo you need the respective DLCs

FEATURES:
  • ALL MINOR CLANS UNLOCKED AND REVAMPED:
All minor factions who own at least a province are now playable and have been completely revamped as to shorten the gap between them and the major clans. That means that sadly the European traders and the wacky Wako can’t be played 🙁

Here’s the full list of changes:

    • Revamped frontend menu UI: The UI in the frontend menu has been fully revamped, adding victory conditions, difficulty rating, clan traits and descriptions.
    • Clan traits: each clan gets a new set of traits, loosely lolbased on the clan’s history with some custom features, in order to give everyone a unique gameplay.
    • Special units: a new set of units has been added to their respective clan’s roster. Some of the new units include: Loan Sword Ashigaru, Bow Wako, Ronin, and many more!
    • Improved family trees:family trees of the following clans have been revamped, adding historical characters who lived through the Sengoku Jidai and were born before 1560: Sagara, Sogo, Miyoshi, Matsuda, Yamana, Bessho, Hatano, Hatakeyama, Asai, Tsutsui, Kitabatake, Jinbo, Murakami
    • Daimyo traits: the following clans’ Daimyo and generals have received new traits, to mark their personality: Ito, Sagara, Shoni, Kono, Sogo, Miyoshi, Amako, Urakami, Yamana, Bessho, Takaoka, Ashikaga, Tsutsui, Kitabatake, Saito, Jinbo, Anegakoji, Imagawa Yamanouchi, Ogigayatsu, Mogami
    • Historical characters: family members of the following clans have been renamed to their historical counterparts who belonged to them and lived through the Sengoku Jidai: Ito, Otomo, Ouchi, Miyoshi, Amako, Matsuda, Hatano, Asai, Saito, Kiso, Ogigayatsu, Satomi, Mogami
    • More names for retainers: new family names have been added to the game, and all clans except Matsuda, Yamana, Hatano and Ashikaga now belong to a name group which includes them. The new names include: Sanada, Torii, Tachibana, Kuroda, Ukita and many more!
    • Historical retainers: added famous retainers for the following clans: Miyoshi [Matsunaga Hisahide], Urakami [Ukita Naoie], Yamanouchi [Nagano Narimasa], Ogigayatsu [Narita Nagayasu]
    • Custom intro missions: a new set of intro missions for every clan has been made to make the game more fair at the beginning and improve the overall experience
    • More skill points: Generals gain one extra skill point per level

  • ALL CLANS PLAYABLE IN CUSTOM BATTLES:
Every clan is unlocked in custom battle mode, INCLUDING Wako pirates and European traders. There are also 8 unpublished clans unique to this gamemode: Utsunomiya, Asano, Hosokawa, Ishida, Kobayakawa, Kuroda, Toyotomi and Ukita
  • FULL MULTIPLAYER COMPATIBILITY:
Ever wanted to play with a friend an Ashikaga/Anegakoji(best clan) campaign?
And what about Honma/Ashikaga but the Honma player can only have Sado and raid other factions while the
    Ashikaga can only enstablish vassals?
Well, now you can do it!

QUALITY OF LIFE AND IMMERSION IMPROVEMENTS:

Several quality of life improvements have been made both in-game and in the menu, to give a better experience 😉

Here’s the list:

  • Frontend menu names: added clan’s name when hovering over its button with the cursor
  • Clan difficulty: added the clan’s difficulty rating in the frontend menu
  • Custom battle clan descriptions: added a description for the clan in the custom battles menu
  • Fixed camera: centered the starting camera position over the provinces owned by the player
  • Victory conditions: to make the gameplay more interesting each and every clan gets some key province they have to capture in order to win the game. They won’t be just the neighbouring provinces but, for example, the provinces owned by the clan’s historical enemies/rulers.
  • Clan descriptions: every clan gets a description in the frontend menu, sorry if they’re not 100% accurate, everything I wrote comes from personal knowledge and a not-so-thorough research :^)
  • Way of chi tech tree: added a node in the Way of chi tech tree, so you can beeline Neo-Confucianism
  • More starting cash: clans start with 1000 koku, plus 200 for every other province they own instead of the default 450/650.
  • Demolishable building: Leased land is now demolishable, so now you can get the extra construction slot when you’re not Christian

BUGFIXES:

This mod fixes the following bugs encountered in the vanilla game:

Fixed Hattori and Tokugawa’s Kisho Ninja, they’re now stronger than regular ones

Fixed the Mori Nihon Maru now it’s available to recruit when Shogun

Fixed the Takeda Great Guard now it’s available to recruit when Shogun

Fixed the portraits of the following clans’ Daimyo: Hatakeyama, Kitabatake, Jinbo

PLANNED FEATURES:
  • Changing the placeholder Daimyo in the menu with the clan’s actual Daimyo
  • Making a 12 turns per year version

KNOWN BUGS:
  • As this mod uses Sara Temer’s menu buttons, there’s still the Yamana button visual bug.
  • While playing the Ashikaga Kyoto will recruit some units for whatever reason, up until you have a full army. Apparently they’re free but hey, you’re the shogun after all.
  • Since they are the Mighty Ashikaga, you probably won’t see the "Campaign won" screen, as you technically have won by default. (Try to lose then regain Kyoto, I’ve not tested it yet but it could work)
  • The kamon of Asano, Ishida, Kobayakawa, Kuroda and Ukita clans is bugged when selecting them in the custom battle menu, but it’s just a visual bug, in-game factions are fine
  • You might not see clan traits/effects displayed. Should it happen, I left a complete list in the Discussions section, so please check it out

SPECIAL THANKS:

Sara Temer for the 46 menu buttons. Also, check her mod out 🙂

This mod uses Sinfonia Semplice[www.twcenter.net] to fix units’ audio, thanks to crux3D
