Information

The AgustaWestland AW260 Gryphon (fictional) is a medium-lift naval helicopter built for the Newquay Navy capable of several tasks such as ASW, ship-based transport as well as lifting capabilities. Using a conventional design layout of a helicopter however emphasising advanced technologies, such as the heavy addition of automation in the helicopter fitted with a full autopilot as well as autoland system in place in the helicopter, as well as this, the AW260 extensively uses composite materials and avionics systems to maximise the efficiency of the helicopter such as an overdrive gearbox system to minimise the RPS required and maximise the speed of the rotors to amplify efficiency and because of this is capable of staying in the air for an extended period of time while still retaining its speed.

This is based off of a mish-mash of a few helicopters such as the AW101, AW189 and my first helicopter with a massive emphasis on efficiency as well as being as convenient as possible towards the pilot.

– A user-friendly GPS autopilot
– Touchscreen MFDs (Using the little arrow at the top right of all the small screens)
– Automatic heating
– 1h+ flight time
– Super efficient 10RPS engine.
– 95 knots top speed.
– 10659l of fuel.
– Seats for 16 people.

HOW TO USE:

How to start the engine:

1. In order, turn on "Battery", "Engines", "Generators" and "Avionics".
2. For COLDER temperatures BELOW 5 DEGREES turn on "Pitot Heater".
3. Turn off "Rotors brake".
4. Press "Fuel Pumps" and then "Engine Ignition".
5. Turn on "Nav Lights" and both of your displays.
6. The small display screens can be changed by pressing the little arrow at the top right.

Using the autopilot & autoland:

1. Press a waypoint, set it onto your autopilot GPS.
2. Make sure you’re at a good altitude, turn on your autopilot, enjoy.

1. It is preferable that you stop, turn on autoland and you will descend. You don’t need to press any button.
2. The autoland works on water as well, the helicopter will keep 1m off of it.

A LOT of thanks to Uran_Wind who collaborated to make this helicopter, helping to make the automatic systems behind this helicopter, without him this helicopter would nowhere near as advanced!
