AC130 Airstrike
Thank you for helping this mod reach 1,000,000 subscribers.
The biggest part of this update is that AC130 Airstrike now supports multiplayer, hopefully bug-free. Each player has its own radio and plane orbiting the map and can use them individually.
Also includes some fixes, new options, and general improvements.
Equip the tool, enter plane view, aim from above, and fire different shell types at the world below.
The mod includes several shell types:
- 25mm – fast light cannon fire
- 40mm – heavier explosive shots
- 105mm – the big one
- Cluster – multiple explosions
- Napalm – fire starters
- Water – water cannon
- Acid – acid effect
- Smoke – canister emits smoke
This update also includes:
- Controller support
- New in-game options menu
- Singleplayer and multiplayer settings
- Improved shell selection
- Range finder in plane view
- Own player marker in plane view
- Improved projectile visuals
- Smoke shell with physical canister
- Improved tool hand positioning
Equip the AC130 Airstrike tool from the tool list.
- Use the plane view keybind, RMB/grab, to enter or exit the AC130 camera
- Fire with the normal tool fire input, LMB/usetool
- Cycle shell types with Q/E, or interact
- Open the options menu with O by default
The options menu is split between client options and host options.
Client options are personal settings and are saved between sessions.
Host options are session settings. These are only available to the multiplayer host and are used to control balance, restrictions, and performance for the session.
Host settings can control things like:
- Which shell types are allowed
- Damage multiplier
- Cooldown multiplier
- Maximum active projectiles
- Self damage
- Friendly fire
In singleplayer, shell availability can be controlled locally so you can customize the tool for yourself.
I have tried to make this update friendlier for multiplayer game modes, especially around player damage, teams, friendly fire, self damage, and host authority.
More work may still be needed for better compatibility.
