Dynamic Crusader States
Relive the days of the Crusades with Dynamic Crusader States, experience some of the dynamics of the First Crusade, with the reintroduction of Crusader Kings II: Holy Fury’s addition to form-able Crusader States while on Crusade in the Holy Land!

  • Introduces the dynamic formation of Crusader States during Crusades! Simply siege a duchy of the primary defenders land, which isn’t within the Crusade Target realm to form!
  • Adds three major options regarding the formation of these states, either take the lands directly incorporating them into your current realm, place the future of the state into the hands to of your Beneficiary’s who would then protect those lands from that moment forward or you can leave your old lands behind to your heirs, and take on the ultimate duty of securing these lands for Christendom personally, as the great duke of these lands!
  • Includes special modifiers and traits for these new Crusader State Rulers, which can change how one is to play a Crusader State such as reduced Holy war Casus Belli costs, Increased Diplomatic Range to reach Europe, and more!

  • Q: I don’t see the decision, how do i form a Crusader State?

      A: In order to form a crusader state, you will need a variety of things,

      • You must be an landed ruler, a Count, Duke or Emperor.
      • You must be pledged in a Christian Great Holy War/Crusade, and must have an selected Beneficiary.
      • Your Christian Faith must have the Armed Pilgrimages Doctrine and be in the Era of Crusades.
      • The duchy that is entirely sieged down from your forces, must be a duchy within the realm of the Primary Defender.
      • The sieged duchy, MUST NOT, be within the Crusade Target Kingdom (Can’t form a Crusader State of Ascalon while the Crusade is for Jerusalem, but you could if the Crusade was for Syria or Egypt)
      • You must NOT be incapable.
  • Q: This sounds interesting, but does the AI use it??

      A: The mod works using the great Decisions file of Crusader Kings III, which allows many things for the AI

      • IF the AI meets the required conditions laid out above, the AI will frequently check every other month. to see if they can complete the decision, if they do, they will move onto the event.
      • In the events, the options are weighted upon plenty of different factors such as traits, personalities and AI-Value Modifiers to make the AI take the most appropriate choices, true to their characters.

One major goal while developing this feature for Crusader Kings III, was to do opposite of my previous projects such as Crusader Universalis or Kingdom of Heaven proper, and wanted to ensure as much compatibility as I could, so players could enable this mod and enjoy, without fear of interruptions or problems with other mods, as such I took to keeping the amount of Vanilla files down as much as humanly possible in a mod, while the mod such be compatible with most mods, i do wish to note that
one vanilla file has been edited, commoncasus_belli_types0_religious_war.txt, to give the Crusader States reduced CB cost on Holy Wars,

Mods which edit the same above file, may run into issues, to prevent those or to overwrite my buffs to Holy War Cost, please place this mod ABOVE other mods in your play-sets.
