Important note: please be aware that after the BETA, or perhaps unfortunately during the BETA, the completed version/updates will/may not be your CURRENT save-game compatible – don’t get attached to your progress. Meaning your current campaign won’t work with this – you’ll need to start a new one. In quite some time, the mod should be completed. For now, enjoy learning the process of the campaign & how each play-through is different. Have fun in custom battles with the smart AI, or with friends!

This is a complete overhaul for the Wrath of Sparta campaign
I’ve created a collaboration which makes the WoS campaign a very graphical, challenging, immersive & a memorable time. Not one play through will be the same.

This brings many new units to all of the major and a few of the minor factions. AI is revamped to be more aggressive in campaign and in battle, also smarter than you’d expect. It know’s when it’s powerless, or how powerful it is. AI will actually form a proper line of Hoplites in battle, providing you those amazing field battles you dream of (it will work with your formation briefly, but it mainly is going to relentlessly work against your formation and breach into your flanks) – with revamped animation for better Hoplite action.
AI Cavalry will cycle charge & flank how they should.
All units have increased movement speed by minimal margins to accelerate combat for a more realistic feel.
All Hoplite units have reworked scouting range to simulate field of view in full-faced helmets & being behind each other & to implement the use of cavalry & mountains for range of sight to scout the enemy troops & where they’re moving.
This also reworks combat to be more strategic for you and AI. When being attacked, you are no longer the defender, you must scout to seek your enemy, for your enemy is scouting for you so you can’t just corner camp unless you want to wait A LONG time.

Battle field size is maximised to give more scouting flexibility.
You will still have to advance on the AI when attacking them, unfortunately they will still defend. (working on changing this)
Battles are now executed with more exciting animations for combat and death!

Persia will start with 76 Armies, as either AI or Human. (Human version with normal start coming soon)
They will stop recruiting at turn 120 and start their campaign for world domination.
You will suffer hordes of Persians as an end-game boss.

Renamed unit classes to Greek with English translation
Tweaked unit sizes.

A brand new 12-turn truce mechanic which prevents AI’s from declaring war for the first 12 turns to fit the 12 turns per year for historical accuracy.
Since the campaign starts in 432 BC, and the Peloponnesian War starts in 431, this gives you the depth of accuracy and the ability for you and your allies as well as your enemy’s to build up an economy and your military for the rising tensions which will inevitably spark war.

Campaign AI will generate random personalities every new-game, not one play-through will be the same. You will have different character appearances generate each play-through thanks to the Ageing Generals mod, except historical characters. These new characters as Generals will appear leading your army in battle.
An enhanced diplomacy system making AI value diplomatic relationships more, with random personalities each play-through.
Diplomacy is re-worked, treaties & trade no longer bring any positive value changes between your faction & another faction along with influence on allies of both factions.

All arcade effects are removed – you will no longer see borders on the campaign map, so you bust be more careful when travelling, and get to know your borders by land mark, not colours.
You won’t see de-buff or buff effects appear on unit banners when abilities are used, or when fire/whistling arrows etc. are in effect. You will still see the icon on the flags, but the bright arcade effects are gone.
Snow on the map is hazardous to your men – the more you travel through it, the more your men will suffer from the unforgiving frosts of the polarised mountains.
Marching through a small path of snow isn’t as critical as walking through an entire mountain range of snow.
Navy movement range is greatly increased to simulate fleet expeditions better.

Brand new UI interfaces to fit Greek theme & imported battle interfaces from Arena Total War.

Load the Peloponnesian War first, AAA Generals Second, then Sanitation+

COMPATIBILITY

Nothing known yet, but no reskins, no graphics mods except which are listed above, no overhauls, no combat or animation mods.
