Description:

A few simple tweaks to the combat system that make battles more decisive and reduce the slapstick-esque army chasing. Prevents armies from retreating again and again, taking almost no casualties each time.

– Routed armies will traverse a maximum of 3 baronies before they can be engaged again (Vanilla CK3: 15). This still gives nearby armies the opportunity to join forces with their defeated allies, but prevents shenanigans like invincibly zooming off to Moscow from Paris and completely reinforcing.

– Increased fatal casualties in main battle phase by ~50%.

– Massively increased damage dealt in the pursuit phase.

– Put a slight cap on the defender’s max Screen, while somewhat increasing the attacker’s min Pursuit.

These changes make it much easier to crush enemy armies for both the player and the AI, making picking one’s fights more important.

Tweaking this mod to your liking is easy, simply locate the mod and edit the .txt file in the common/defines folder. The devs’ comments make it pretty clear what each variable does. Changing "SHATTERED_RETREAT_MAX_PROVINCES" (governs traversed baronies before retreat ends) has the biggest effect.
