Description:
A/C Booster

v2.1.0 Sept 7th, 2021

Picard Patch Compatible

A/C Booster adds better transformer tech to the Atomic Accumulators and Fuel Cell batteries.
A/C Booster will allow your batteries to discharge up to 3 times faster than stock batteries.

NEW – Power groups, read below.
A/C Booster adds a slider to both the Atomic Accumulator and Fuel Cells that allows you to control how fast the battery will discharge.
Rates available from standards 1x, all the way up to 3x, a 300% boost.
Atomic Accumulator increments in 25 units.
Fuel Cell increments in 5 units.

Features

  • Change any battery’s power output discharge rate
  • Create power groups of batteries that change all batteries output when one battery is changed
  • Change one battery to a group, or change all of the same type of battery to the current group.

Mod Config Settings

  • Change new battery group defaults.

Mod Config Reborn is here > Mod Config Reborn

Power Groups
You can assign power groups to any battery.
If a battery is part of a Power Group, then changing one battery in that group changes all other batteries in that group.
There is a 2 second delay when changing a groups’ output to prevent the slider from creating game stutter.
Changing a battery to a different group automatically sets that battery to the groups’ power output.
There are three groups for Atomic Accumulators (big battery) and three groups for Fuel Cells (small battery).
The Atomic Accumulator groups are separate from the Fuel Cell groups. That means 6 unique groups.
There is a NONE group. Any battery in the NONE group acts as an individual and is autonomous.
New batteries are assigned to the default group set in Mod Config Reborn. If you dont have Mod Config Reborn, then the default group is GROUP1.
Existing batteries in save games are automatically put into the NONE group but can be changed after game load.
New games start with GROUP1.
You can change all the batteries of one type to the same group by right clicking the group. See tooltip.

Discharge Delay
If you are currently discharging a battery due to a lack of power and change the slider to output more power, there is about a 3-8 second delay before the battery will discharge at the new rate. This is normal.

Maintenance
The cost for maintenance goes up the same same rate percentage as the discharge, so pay carefull attention to your supplies if you alter the discharge rate.
Charge rate is unaffected and remains default for both battery types.
Storage amount is unaffected and is governed by the standard rates or the advanced storage compression tech.

Why change the discharge rate?
This will allow you to either supply more power from fewer batteries during emergencies, or build fewer batteries overall in your colony.
