After the battle over the suburban Condo left the area in an unlivable squalor, the Ravens abandoned the housing project and their Lava lamps to set their sights on something deeper within the city. The Eagles spies were not far behind, and so it was not long before the Blues mobilized another raiding party to pursue their nemesis… But when they arrived on scene, they were greeted by an unexpected situation…
The Ravens had filed for a city permit to begin their renovations on their purchases. Though the city had long-since approved their construction with an inspector, the Ravens were then stunned to be visited by yet another inspector, this time claiming that the modern balconies installed were in violation of some hitherto unmentioned “Architectural Heritage Preservation law”. The Ravens either had to pay a hefty fine to keep those balconies, or rip them down a their expense, so they said!
Outraged at this flagrant lack of responsibility on the part of the municipal government, the Eagles decided to delay their attack and instead join the Ravens, challenging the city in court! Scores of residents joined their cause, many of whom had been dealing with a steady rise in taxes, corruption and incompetence for decades now. A class action suit was filed, court hearings occurred, the movement made headlines. After a months-long legal battle, the city acquiesced to the people’s needs, dropped the fines, and began restructuring themselves so as to better serve the public. Both Eagle and Ravens rejoiced, having defeated a common enemy for whom they both held great distaste: bureaucratic apathy!
UN-fortunately…. During the celebrations, an Eagle soldier mistook a box of Star Trek VHS’s under a stack of college essays for an intercontinental ballistic missile silo, and so the two factions must now battle it out in the way that they know best! Who will win? Does it even matter? Eh! Who knows! The fight for affordable living and reasonable government administration continues!
